About UsWhat is a Credit Union? A credit union is a not for profit cooperative financial institution. The credit union is a democratically controlled organization run by members for members. The board of directors and credit committee are elected by the membership each year at the annual meeting. All volunteers serving on the board and committee’s serve without pay. There are 136 million credit union members world wide representing 43,00 credit unions. The credit union philosophy of “people helping people” is as true today as it was 150 year ago when credit unions began. We do what we do not for profit, not for charity but for service. Each year in October credit unions celebrate the unique service their credit unions provide and the ways their families and communities have benefited from the credit union difference. When you join a credit union you become a member not a customer. Who can join Fairfield Municipal Federal Credit Union? Those eligible for membership include all town employees, elected and appointed officials. Immediate family members are also eligible and encouraged to join. Hours of operation Fairfield Municipal FCU is open for business Monday through Friday
